Niche Markets, Attraction Marketing and How To Use Them With Your MLM - Part 3

June 4, 2008

InnovationOne of the hardest things I found in network marketing was how to show my downline that they could make a business out of my company’s products by using their list of 100 names or warm market.  As we all know, it’s not easy – actually it’s probably downright impossible although there will always be those few who can do it.

From the raw recruit to the most senior distributor in your company their warm market will eventually run dry.  Being told to go back to your list is one of the biggest turn-offs in network marketing today.

This is where Ann Sieg and her fabulous ebooks The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing and The Renegade Network Marketer can help you enormously with building your network marketing business.  Ann’s system of combining internet marketing, affiliate marketing and network marketing are a winning combination.  If you haven’t got your copy yet – don’t delay – get it today!

Using niche marketing you can set yourself up as an innovative leader in your network marketing company by showing your downline how to utilise the internet to produce multiple streams of income.

You are not just presenting a business opportunity or really great products; you are also presenting a different and successful way to promote those products.

Throw away that list forever!

Back to our two examples – the travel business – everyone in your downline would have either a favourite holiday destination or maybe a dream destination that they are looking forward to visiting with the help of their bonus cheques from their business.

If they couldn’t think of a destination I’d probably, very gently, suggest they were in the wrong business, lol  Your entire downline could have niche markets for travel destinations all over the world.  I would be very surprised if there were any double-ups, if so, it must surely be a great place to visit, like Australia!

In the health and wellness sector, everyone has a favourite product.  It may have helped them overcome a health issue or it is just a great product that works and they really love using it.  This type of product nearly always has different demographics to target as outlined in Part 2.

Have an opt-in form on your website offering a free report or an ebook on say “The Best Ever Travel Tips” or “How You Can Get The Zing Back Into Your Life” – and, hey presto, you will start to build a list of people who are actually interested in what you have to say!

You will then be able to send them follow-up emails related to your particular niche market.

You could also promote other affiliate products on your site, such as travel products (luggage, books and CDs about your niche destination) or lifestyle products (exercise equipment, books and CDs on yoga, exercise, mediation, stress-management) and the list goes on.

The possibilities are only limited by your imagination.  Let the creative juices flow!

Your upline, if they haven’t seen the light yet, will be absolutely gob-smacked by your innovation and success.

I hope this series has given you a few ideas on how you can market your business without using the old-fashioned methods of MLM.

What are your thoughts on niche marketing?  Will any of the ideas I have suggested help you market your MLM products?  Do you have any other niche marketing tips you would like to share?  Please leave a comment - I’d love to hear from you!

Niche Markets, Attraction Marketing and How To Use Them With Your MLM - Part 1

May 22, 2008

Target MarketsOne of the key factors of internet marketing is niche markets.

What is a niche market and how can I use it with my network marketing company?

It doesn’t matter whether your MLM company has one product or dozens in their range – you can make a niche market for it by thinking outside of the square.

Let’s look at two examples of network marketing companies – one a travel business and the other a health and wellness company.

The travel business – choose your favourite holiday destination in the world and make a niche market on it – at SiteBuildIt, Ken Evoy’s daughter has a wonderful website on Anguilla.   Have a look at it and see how you could use something similar for your travel business.

For example – your initial content could be on –

• Why you love this destination so much
• What attracted you to it
• Your favourite sightseeing places, accommodation, cafes, restaurants, shopping, art galleries, night clubs and entertainment

Health and wellness products – choose your favourite product – be it an anti-oxidant, vitamin supplement, weight loss system, a cleansing lotion, nutritional drink, baby care products or hair care products – you get the idea.

Whatever you choose to promote in your niche market, make sure you write good generic content about it.  Don’t push your specific product or MLM opportunity at your audience – it’s an instant turn off.

For example – if it’s a vitamin supplement you could research and write about –

• Why our diets are lacking in essential vitamins and minerals
• How the environment impacts on our health
• How our hectic lifestyles impact on our diet with highly processed foods and take-way foods
• Why people have more allergies and sensitivities to foods than say 20 years ago.

Make sure what you write is in your own words and “voice”.  Personalise it with your own story.  You become the authority in your niche market.

That should give you a few ideas to think about.

In Part 2 I will look at how to make niche markets within niche markets and how this will benefit, not only your business, but your downline.

Super Affiliate Handbook Review

April 21, 2008

Super Affiliate HandbookThe Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner has been one of the premier handbooks for learning Internet marketing for several years.  Thousands of people have used her techniques to learn how to make a full-time income online, and many more join these ranks every year.

The first thing Rosalind does is to tell you how to decide whether being an entrepreneur is right for you.  She explains that online affiliate marketing isn’t for everyone, and she tells you exactly how to decide whether or not it’s even something you should seriously attempt.

Next, she goes into detail about what affiliate marketing is, how to get started, and gives a brief overview of the first things you’ll need to know if you want to get into the industry.  She only devotes a few pages to the basics, so there’s not a lot of fluff here.

Then Rosalind starts to get technical, but in a way that’s not over your head.  She talks about some of the equipment you’ll need - like computer, hosting, and software.  She explains technical information such as routers, hosting, FTP, and several types of necessary software.

You’ll learn all about the types of research you’ll need to do.  She teaches you how to research the keywords you’ll need to use to attract search engine traffic to your sites.  She’ll show you how you can determine which markets might be profitable, what the people in that market are looking for, and how you can best appeal to them.

You’ll learn how to determine how large the market potentially is, how much competition you have, and who your competition is. Rosalind goes in-depth about several affiliate companies, and gives you details about each one.

You’ll learn the pros and cons of many of the most popular affiliate networks, so you can choose which ones you might prefer to work with. Then she goes into choosing a product to promote.  Rosalind spares no details here.

She gets right into the nitty-gritty of how to find out whether or not a particular affiliate company is reputable, how to make sense of their affiliate agreements, how you can have the best chances of being accepted into your affiliate program of choice, and how much commission you should expect.

You’ll find out what cookies are, and how they’re used to track your commissions.  You’ll learn how to analyze other features such as statistics, pay rates, pay schedules, affiliate sales tools, and other data that can help you choose the right affiliate network.

Next, she explains how to find and register a good domain, how to set up your first website, and how to get it online.  She’ll tell you what software you need to build your site, how to find a good hosting company, and what features you’ll need your host to have.

Rosalind is especially detailed in regards to showing you exactly how to set up your first site.  She assumes the reader knows nothing about site creation, so she’s very careful with her explanations.

Perhaps most importantly, Rosalind explains exactly how to get traffic to your site.  Most webmasters find getting traffic to their site is the hardest part of Internet marketing by far.  Rosalind explains 29 great ways to get traffic - most of them free!  She even gives you a step-by-step action plan of what to do daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly.

The Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardner is a must have resource for your affiliate marketing education.  Don’t delay - get your copy today!

Hostgator Baby Plan Review

April 17, 2008

HostgatorHostGator is one of the most popular web hosts on the planet, and certainly one of the most popular hosts for Internet marketers.  They offer a wide range of services, and their prices are practically unbeatable.

The “Baby Plan” is their most popular package.  Currently under $10.00 per month, it offers enough hosting for almost anyone at a price that’s extremely affordable, even for beginning marketers.

You can get it even cheaper if you pay for more than one month in advance.  There’s no setup fee, so all you really need to pay for to get started is your first month! HostGator has a site builder system with several thousand built-in templates.

This makes it extremely easy to set up a website, even if you’ve never built a site before.  The Baby Plan offers 600 GB of web space and 6,000 GB of bandwidth.  You’re also allowed unlimited websites.

This plan is big enough for most marketers, unless you’re offering very large downloads of zip files, images, or video.  If you happen to reach your limit, it’s easy to upgrade to a larger plan.
HostGator offers exceptional 24/7 live support via telephone, email, and live chat.

They pride themselves on the fact that their support staff isn’t outsourced - it’s all in house.  Their support is there for you any time you need help with anything, and they’re more than willing to help newbies get started.

HostGator offers almost every feature you could ever need for your hosting.  They have PHP and MySQL, so you can run all of the scripts you need to run.  They offer Fantastico, which is a great script that allows you to easily install dozens of the most popular scripts, including WordPress, Joomla, OS Commerce, CubeCart, Zen Cart, phpBB2, and dozens more.

You can have unlimited POP3 email accounts, so you can set up all of the email addresses you need for every domain.  They also offer email aliases if you just want to forward emails to a central address.

They have built-in autoresponders.  And they have Spam Assassin for stopping those irritating spam messages. HostGator also offers the latest version of cPanel.  You’ll be able to use cPanel to easily manage domains, add email and FTP accounts, and deal with all of your MySQL databases.

You’ll find that cPanel is the most common system for managing these things, and it’s easy to find tutorials that teach you how to use it. HostGator also offers both AWStats and Webalizer so that you can tell where your traffic is coming from and how much you’re getting.  This helps you find out which advertising methods are working best.

If that’s not enough for you, along with the many other features they deliver, HostGator offers a 100% money back guarantee.  If you’re not happy with their service in the first 45 days, you can let them know and they’ll give you a full refund the same day.

An In-Depth Aweber Review

April 16, 2008

AweberAweber is one of the most popular and widely used hosted autoresponder solutions.  Most email list owners who’ve tried Aweber say they’d never use anything else.  There are a number of reasons behind this, but everywhere you turn you see more people who are loyal fans of the system.

Probably the most powerful reason behind Aweber’s success is the fact that they’ve managed to get themselves whitelisted by many of the popular ISPs.   This means emails sent through Aweber generally have a better chance of getting through to inboxes, rather than being marked as spam.

Higher deliverability is one of the biggest benefits of Aweber, because obviously the more people who see your messages, the more money you’ll probably make. Aweber is also known for being exceptionally easy to use.

They offer simple video tutorials on how to set up new lists, how to add autoresponder sequences, how to send out single mailings, and many other lessons.  They make it very easy to set up and manage a list, even if you’ve never managed one before.

Their customer service is also very helpful.  If you do have any problems setting anything up, you can easily contact them and you’ll get help very quickly.  They’re known for having excellent customer service that’s very responsive.

Some people wonder why they should use a service like Aweber over an autoresponder script hosted on their own server.  Well, one reason is the fact that you open yourself up to being more vulnerable to spam complaints if you use your own script.

Aweber has a complex system for keeping track of opt-in dates, times, and IP addresses.  If a spam complaint comes in, Aweber can handle the complaint for you, by providing the date, time, and IP address of the person who subscribed.

Aweber has years of experience dealing with spam complaints, so they know exactly what to do if you do get any complaints.  This can save you a lot of time and hassle, because they can deal with these things for you.

Remember, with Aweber you have to comply with U.S. anti-spam laws by placing your real address in your emails.  You have to do this even if you aren’t based in the United States, because Aweber is.

This is a privacy issue for some people, who would prefer not to have their home address readily available for all to see.  You can get around this issue by using a business address if you have an office, or using the address of your attorney if you have one.

This is a very minor issue for most people, and it’s not really worth worrying about unless you have serious reasons to need to protect your privacy. Overall, Aweber is an exceptional system.  They make it very simple for beginners to run their own list, and they offer several layers of protection against spam complaints.

The fact that they’re whitelisted with so many ISPs makes their deliverability second to none, which means more of your messages will get through to their intended recipients.  This makes them a much better option than running your own software on your servers.

See for yourself – take Aweber for a test drive today.
